Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Vascular Access / Medical-Surgical in Burlington, Vermont

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Burlington, Vermont
• Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,360–$2,480
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Duration: Approximately 16 weeks, ending February 21, 2027
• Schedule: 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
• Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Scheduling Notes: Primarily day shifts, with flexibility to work nights as needed. Rotations may include a week of nights followed by a week of days; block scheduling is not available.

Travel RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Vermont
• At least 2 years of recent experience in vascular access, infusion, emergency nursing, medical-surgical nursing, or a closely related specialty
• Recent experience in a Level I trauma setting, preferably within the last year
• Strong peripheral IV insertion and troubleshooting skills, including ultrasound-guided IV placement
• Experience with PICC lines, implanted ports, dressing changes, and vascular access maintenance
• Epic electronic health record experience within the past 2 years
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification
• AVA certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended, particularly during the winter months

Vascular Access Nurse Responsibilities

• Place, assess, maintain, and remove peripheral IV lines at the bedside
• Perform ultrasound-guided peripheral IV insertions and troubleshoot difficult IV access
• Assess PICC lines, complete PICC dressing changes, and administer TPA as clinically indicated
• Access and flush implanted ports while following safe vascular access practices
• Support line maintenance, dressing changes, and blood draws as needed
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary care teams to address vascular access needs throughout the hospital
• Provide safe, compassionate patient care while documenting accurately in Epic
• Adapt to rotating day and night assignments and changing clinical priorities
