Payroll Tax Specialist

Spencer Thomas Group (STG) is currently looking to add to our team of consultants under our ADP Tax/Payroll/HCM practice. We are seeking an experienced Tax Operations Consultant to provide hands‑on support for tax operation across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities This role is critical to stabilizing tax processes, addressing outstanding notices, and confirming proper registrations and tax IDs are in place. Support remediation of multi‑jurisdictional tax compliance issues, including registrations and missing tax IDs Review, triage, and respond to federal, state, and local tax agency notices Coordinate with tax authorities to resolve outstanding matters and compliance gaps Document recommendations for improved tax management and tracking processes, implementing upon Client approval Perform weekly on‑site mail pickup, specific to tax notices received, at a Tampa‑area location and route notices appropriately Collaborate with ADP team, internal stakeholders and external advisors to drive resolution and compliance Qualifications 5+ years of experience in tax operations, tax compliance, or tax consulting Strong working knowledge of ADP SmartCompliance as well as U.S. state and local tax jurisdictions Experience handling tax notices, registrations, and agency correspondence Highly organized with strong follow‑through and documentation skills Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving, remediation‑focused environment Must be local to the Tampa, FL area and able to visit a physical location weekly Duration: This is a project‑based consulting opportunity with an immediate start date and a duration through 12/31/2026, with an opportunity to extend Level of Effort: Full‑time hours, 40 per week Working Hours: Based on EST timezone, fully remote EXCEPT for a weekly mail pickup in Tampa FL location #J-18808-Ljbffr
