As a Produce Department Manager, you will oversee daily produce operations, ensure high standards for freshness and presentation, and drive sales through strong merchandising and inventory control. Main responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service

• Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge

• Execute corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays

• Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times

• Manage product rotation, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards

• Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines

• Manage shrink through inventory controls, root‑cause identification, and waste‑reduction strategies

• Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs

• Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment

• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

• Strong customer‑service mindset with attention to freshness and detail

• Effective leadership, communication, and coaching skills

• Strong organization, prioritization, and problem‑solving abilities

• Ability to lead in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment

Competencies:

• Produce merchandising and freshness execution

• Inventory management, ordering, and shrink control

• Labor planning, scheduling, and associate supervision

• Food safety, sanitation, and compliance execution

Knowledge:

• Produce handling, rotation, and freshness standards

• Retail merchandising and promotional execution

• Store systems and inventory tools

Abilities:

• Ability to review sales, shrink, and inventory data to drive results

• Ability to train and develop associates

• Ability to lift, move, and stack product and work in coolers and refrigerated environments

• Travel requirements: None

• Other requirements: Flexible availability including weekends and holidays; reliable attendance; compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and the Code of Business Conduct

Pay Transparency:

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).
