Account ProcessorThe Account Processor at United Health Services (UHS) plays an important role in supporting healthcare revenue cycle operations by helping claims move accurately and efficiently from review to reimbursement. This position resolves billing edits, follows up with payers, and helps maintain financial integrity. At UHS, every connection matters, and careful attention to detail helps strengthen those connections every day.Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Patient Accounting, UHS Revenue Cycle OperationsPrimary Work Shift: DayRegular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40Compensation Range: $17.98 - $25.17 per hour, depending on experienceJob ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:Review claim status in Epic to identify and resolve edits preventing timely claim billingAnalyze aging worklists to contact payers, obtain claim status, and rebill or adjust open balances as appropriateReview electronic claim rejections and take corrective action to ensure accurate and timely resubmissionEvaluate claims and payments to confirm accurate reimbursement based on charge entry knowledge and payer requirementsDocument all claim, payer, and encounter actions thoroughly within EpicScope and Impact:Contribute directly to revenue cycle outcomes by resolving claim issues and supporting timely reimbursementExercise judgment within established guidelines when contacting third-party payers and resolving claim discrepanciesUpdate patient registration information to ensure accurate insurance billing and reduce claim delaysRecommend and forward refund requests for approval and processing in alignment with organizational proceduresTravel occasionally between facilities, offices, and other assigned locations as needed to support operational and departmental requirements; possess reliable means of traveling independently throughout the workday when such travel is requiredCompliance and Professional:Adhere to safety rules, attendance expectations, and departmental standards to support a safe and reliable work environmentComplete required training and perform duties in compliance with billing, documentation, and payer requirementsSafeguard sensitive data by following established security policies and procedures, using systems responsibly, and promptly reporting potential security incidents, risks, or policy violationsAs applicable to your role, support cybersecurity and data protection requirements throughout the supplier lifecycle by coordinating vendor risk assessments, monitoring third-party compliance, and promptly reporting identified supply chain or cybersecurity risksAdditional Expectations:Complete assigned duties at other locations as needed to support operational prioritiesDemonstrate UHS Values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and Innovation in all daily work and interactionsExecute responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulationsPerform additional responsibilities as required to meet department and organizational needsPosition QualificationsRequired:High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred:Up to 1 year of healthcare experience working in the healthcare industry in any job functionUp to 1 year of direct experience performing the exact or very similar duties required by the job within the same role or functionUp to 1 year of technical/systems experience using specialized tools, software, or equipment required for the roleUp to 1 year of customer/patient-facing experience directly interacting and communicating with the publicWhy You'll Love Working at UHSAt United Health Services (UHS), we believe every connection—to patients, to purpose, to each other—makes a difference.
