Paralegal / Legal Secretary

A state agency client is seeking a Paralegal / Legal Secretary to provide litigation and administrative support to 3-4 attorneys in its legal office. Onsite contract/temporary role (no benefits), Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, starting 10/26/2026 and running through 06/30/2027. Duties include formatting, proofreading and e-filing legal documents; preparing correspondence, pleadings, motions, notices and subpoenas; filing with Florida Circuit Courts, the Division of Administrative Hearings and other tribunals; maintaining case files and attorney calendars (hearings, depositions, mediations, trials); coordinating with Judicial Assistants; assisting with discovery and document production; preparing exhibits and hearing binders; arranging service of process; tracking deadlines; scheduling court reporters and transcripts; monitoring dockets; and closing files and managing records. U.S. citizenship required. Interviews by webcam or in person.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years as a paralegal, legal assistant or legal secretary supporting several attorneys
- Knowledge of Florida court procedures and e-filing, including Circuit Courts and DOAH
- Litigation support experience: discovery, exhibits, pleadings
- Experience working with Judicial Assistants
- MS Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with docketing and case-management software
- Associate's or bachelor's degree
- Discretion with confidential information
- Florida courts experience and State of Florida attorney experience preferred
