Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU

Location: Lubbock, TX 79410
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Day | 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
Schedule: 3x12 Hours | 36 Hours/Week
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted
First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Block Schedule: Required
On-Call: Not Required
Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
48 Hours: Approved
Float: Required as needed between units

Pay Rate:
Local: $56–$61/hr
Traveler: $56–$61/hr

Required Qualifications:

• Current and valid Texas RN license — Required
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience — Required
• Level III NICU experience — Preferred
• Level III or higher-acuity NICU experience strongly preferred
• Strong neonatal assessment and critical-care nursing skills
• Experience caring for critically ill and high-acuity neonates
• First-time travelers accepted
• Ability to work a block schedule
• Ability to float between units within scope
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates
• Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments and continuously monitor patient conditions
• Develop and implement individualized neonatal care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and facility protocols
• Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, cardiac status, and other clinical indicators
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in neonatal condition
• Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Provide family education, support, and communication regarding the infant's condition and plan of care
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Follow NICU, hospital, and patient-safety protocols
• Float to other units as required by facility needs and within scope of practice
• Work assigned weekend shifts according to the facility schedule
