Senior Accountant

Financial Reporting AccountantYou will play an important role in financial reporting and the month-end close process, with responsibility for journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, audit support, and financial analysis. We are looking for someone who does more than complete the work. We want someone who asks questions, catches inconsistencies, solves problems, and looks for opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.What You'll DoPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP-compliant financial statementsPerform month-end and year-end close activitiesPrepare and review recurring and non-recurring journal entriesCalculate and record accruals and other accounting estimatesPerform account reconciliations and investigate discrepanciesAnalyze financial results and explain significant account fluctuationsMaintain accurate documentation supporting financial reporting and audit requirementsPrepare schedules and documentation for external audits and respond to auditor requestsResearch accounting issues and recommend appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactionsPartner with operational leaders to resolve accounting questions and discrepanciesIdentify opportunities to improve, automate, and standardize accounting processesAssist with finance projects and system implementationsShare knowledge and provide guidance to other accounting team membersWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting requiredMinimum of five years of progressive accounting experienceCPA or CPA candidate preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reportingExperience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparationAdvanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, and working with large amounts of financial dataStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departmentsA proactive mindset and an interest in improving processes rather than simply maintaining themWhy Ranken Jordan?Ranken Jordan is a pediatric bridge hospital dedicated to helping infants, children, and adolescents with complex medical needs transition from the acute-care hospital to home.For the right accountant, this is an opportunity to bring your experience to an organization where the work behind the numbers supports a much larger mission.
