San Antonio, Texas Acute Care NP/PA Nocturnist Locum Tenens
7P–7A Nights | No Procedures | No Code Responsibility

Rhino Medical is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a dedicated Hospital Medicine nocturnist assignment in San Antonio, Texas. This is a nights-only opportunity within a large inpatient environment, offering a defined 7p–7a schedule, established nocturnist physician coverage, broad subspecialty support, and no procedural or code responsibility .

Schedule & Coverage

• 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Nocturnist coverage only
• 12-hour night shifts
• Established Hospital Medicine coverage model
• Two physician night rounders
• Admissions distributed round-robin across the nocturnist team in collaboration with the Emergency Department

Practice Environment

• 811-bed hospital setting
• Approximately 18–22 encounters per day
• Open ICU
• No ventilator management
• No procedures
• Emergency Department manages codes
• MEDITECH EMR
• Subspecialty support includes Cardiology, Oncology, Emergency Medicine, Neurosciences, Maternity Care, Gynecology and Orthopedics

Requirements

• Acute Care-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• NPs must hold Acute Care certification
• Must be comfortable practicing exclusively on nights
• Appropriate Texas licensure and credentials
• Hospital Medicine / acute inpatient experience appropriate for the assignment
