Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg \n Discipline: RN \n Start Date: 10/26/2026 \n Duration: 13 weeks \n 36 hours per week \n Shift: 12 hours, days \n Employment Type: Travel \n \n \n Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Location: Charlotte North Carolina 28203 Duration: 13 Weeks \n Shift: 12hr Day Shift - 36 \n Shift Information: 0700-1900 \n Clinical Interviewing- Yes \n On Call, Call Back Requirements: none \n Weekend Rotation: EOW \n Holiday Requirements: Travelers will work 75% of holidays \n Floating Requirements: Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) \n Start Date- Oct 26 About Facility: \n \n 874 Licensed beds \n Level I Trauma \n Teaching Hospital \n Chest Pain Center \n Stroke Center \n Magnet Designated \n Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit \n \n Unit Information: \n \n Beds: 43 ED Beds and 20 boarding beds \n \n Minimum Years of Experience required: \n \n Med/Tele RN: 2 years Med/Tele exp (Resource Team) \n Will you accept a first-time traveler: Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team) \n \n Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: \n \n *Travelers will most often be hired as Med/Tele RN to cover ED Holds* \n Trauma level 1 – GSW, Stabbing, MVA, Falls, Stroke, Heart Failure, Chest pain, patient requiring fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, Cardiac Cath pre, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, mental health, Respiratory illnesses, GI Disorders and infections, Liver Failure, AKI/CKD \n \n Patient Ratios: \n \n *Travelers will most often be hired as Med/Tele RN to cover ED Holds* \n RN: 1:5 max (acuity dependent) \n CNA: 1:7 \n \n Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: \n \n Med/Tele RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement) \n \n Skills required: \n \n Med/Tele RN: General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps\n \n Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF \n \n \n Support within the Department: \n \n CNA – ratios vary \n Receptionist/HUC \n Charge nurse, 24/7 – may or may not have patients \n Phlebotomy – peripheral blood draws only \n IV/VAT Team \n Resource Nurse – as available \n RT, 24/7 \n Hospitalist, 24/7 \n Intensivist, 24/7 \n Telemetry monitoring/tech: No monitoring tech; nurses read monitors and respond \n \n Technology/Equipment: \n \n EMR: EPIC \n IV Pump: Alaris \n Med dispensing: Omnicell \n Monitors: Phillips \n \n Floating: \n \n Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable\n \n Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any Freestanding ED within Region, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) \n If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) \n \n \n Orientation (facility and unit): \n \n NEO \n 2 days departmental \n \n Scheduling: \n \n Weekend rotation: every other \n No call for travelers \n Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays \n RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours \n \n Other notes: \n \n Scrub Color: Navy \n Parking: Free \n \n \n PCUnurse1 \n \n 26-29913 (M) \n About TalentBurst, Inc\n \n TalentBurst Health & Life Sciences is an established provider of healthcare workforce solutions, servicing healthcare facilities across the United States for over 15 years.
