Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary The Human Resource Generalist performs HR‑related duties at a professional level, working closely with plant management to support disciplines. This position covers employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, hiring, and employment law compliance. Essential Functions Conduct recruitment for all nonexempt personnel and temporary employees; conduct new‑employee orientations. Administer human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures. Handle benefit questions, enrollment, and changes. Administer the compensation program; monitor performance evaluations and review for regular pay increases, advising as necessary. Manage plant absenteeism; review tardy and absenteeism reports and ensure proper documentation for employees with excessive tardiness or absenteeism. Verify payroll and monitor PTO for all employees. Manage new employee onboarding; guide employees through orientation and culture acclimation to ensure effective functionality within the organization. Provide employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing. Maintain and process all Unemployment Notices of entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner; attend unemployment hearings when necessary. Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars. Assist in evaluating reports, decisions, and results of the department relative to established goals. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience: 3–5 years of HR experience. Experience serving a diverse group of employees preferred. Computer Skills: Excel skills preferred; MS Office required. Certificates & Licenses: SHRM‑CP or PHR certification preferred. Other Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, detail‑oriented, and ability to adapt to a variety of employee issues. #J-18808-Ljbffr
