Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer

Independently performs echocardiograms on pediatric and adult patients with complex congenital heart disease Records, interrogates, quantifies, and measures presence of normal and abnormal anatomy or physiology Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with patient information for timely interpretation Performs procedures following referring providers' orders Participates in ongoing quality improvement processes Mentors or precepts other sonographers, students, or trainees Requirements Required national certification from ARDMS or CCI Preferred certifications from RVT for Vascular, RCS for echo 3 years of pediatric echocardiography experience or equivalent combining adult/pediatric echo center BLS certification required Pediatric certification is required Effective communication skills and human relations skills Ability to analyze data and solve problems Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing echocardiograms on pediatric and adult patients, with a focus on complex congenital heart disease. Proficient in producing high-quality images and mentoring other sonographers while adhering to quality improvement processes.
