Two night shift pharmacist positions are available at a 460-bed Level I trauma center in Richmond, VA. These contract roles offer a unique 7-on, 7-off scheduling pattern, working 8:30 am to 7 pm, providing an excellent work-life balance for those who prefer longer periods off between shifts.
Responsibilities include order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, consulting with physicians and nurses to ensure optimal patient care, and managing pharmacokinetic dosing protocols. The position requires proficiency with Meditech Magic, Vigilanz, Dose Edge, and Pyxis systems, supporting smooth pharmacy operations within a fast-paced trauma center environment.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Virginia pharmacist license required
- Experience in hospital pharmacy with order verification and clinical consultation
- Familiarity with pharmacokinetics and medication dosing adjustments
- Ability to supervise and coordinate pharmacy technicians effectively
- Proficient in Meditech Magic, Vigilanz, Dose Edge, and Pyxis technology platforms
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
