GL Accountant

Overview Accretive Technology Group is seeking an experienced GL Accountant to join our accounting team. This role works closely with the GL Manager and other department members to support general ledger activities, including preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and assisting with the month-end close process. The position plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records while supporting the company’s overall financial health. Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite). After a satisfactory 90-day onboarding period, employees may be eligible for a hybrid schedule of up to one remote workday per week on either Tuesday or Thursday, subject to manager approval and business needs. Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, assist in preparing journal entries, and ensure proper documentation is saved appropriately. Maintain supporting documentation for loans, notes, lease agreements, and ensure appropriate backup exists for all related transactions. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and reconciliations. Prepare journal entries related to prepaid expenses, fixed assets, leases, and notes as part of the monthly and quarterly close processes. Ensure timely completion of closing tasks while adhering to internal controls and deadlines. Support financial audits by providing detailed account analysis, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Reconcile intercompany transactions and balance sheet accounts monthly and quarterly. Reconcile various accounting applications (including Sage 100 and internal systems) related to notes, leases, and other balance sheet accounts. Track prepaid accounts, monitor expiration timelines, and follow up with appropriate stakeholders as needed. Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and relevant financial regulations; assist in implementing and documenting accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A to resolve issues and streamline processes; coordinate with internal teams to request new GL accounts when needed and maintain proper account structures. Education, Experience, & Licensing Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of 3–5 years of general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a technology or fast-paced environment. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles; knowledge of ASC 842 Lease Accounting. Experience with notes receivable and notes payable; fixed asset accounting including depreciation and amortization. Experience performing detailed reconciliations and maintaining supporting documentation; experience with multi subsidiary organizations. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong curiosity and willingness to dig into data. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines; strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration. Experience with process improvement initiatives and ERP systems is a plus. The successful candidate’s placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and level of professional experience.
