We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join an organization in Greenville, South Carolina on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. This position supports core accounting operations by managing invoice workflows, maintaining vendor records, and assisting with monthly financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, accuracy in transactional processing, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full invoice intake process by assigning appropriate accounting codes, forwarding documents for approval through designated workflows, and entering finalized transactions into the accounting system.

• Collect and review vendor onboarding details for completeness and accuracy before submitting new supplier records for setup and approval.

• Address payment-related questions from vendors and independent clinical contractors, researching discrepancies and coordinating resolutions in a timely manner.

• Transfer travel and expense activity from the expense platform into the financial system, making coding adjustments when needed to ensure proper reporting.

• Compile month-end reporting files and organize recurring financial documents to support the next accounting cycle.

• Prepare journal entry corrections and maintain reconciliation updates for leadership review.

• Perform analysis of expense accounts to identify variances, inconsistencies, or items requiring follow-up.

• Provide support to the AP leadership team with vendor maintenance, audit preparation, and annual reporting tasks such as 1099 processing.

• Experience supporting accounts payable functions, including invoice review, coding, and payment-related follow-up.

• Working knowledge of accounts receivable processes and general accounting principles.

• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Background in invoice processing and document management within a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to communicate professionally with vendors, internal departments, and contract workers regarding account questions.

• Comfortable assisting with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end reporting activities.
