Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for Senior Information Security Analyst, Information Technology [R0152709]. ROLE of the POSITION This position serves as a senior cybersecurity professional within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Information Security Office, responsible for advancing and maintaining the university’s operational cybersecurity capabilities through security engineering and architecture, vulnerability management, incident response, and technical excellence. The incumbent manages and administers critical security operations platforms, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Vulnerability Management (VM) solutions, ensuring the availability, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of tools used to detect, investigate, and respond to cybersecurity threats. The position leads the coordination and execution of the university’s vulnerability management program, including asset and vulnerability discovery, customer engagement, vulnerability scanning, reporting, remediation tracking, and process development aligned with university policy and industry best practices. The incumbent works closely with campus stakeholders to establish regular assessment schedules and deliver actionable security intelligence that reduces institutional risk. As a key member of the university’s security operations team, this role provides advanced technical support during cybersecurity incidents by conducting investigations, supporting incident response activities, developing detection capabilities, and maintaining response playbooks and operational procedures. Through continuous analysis of emerging threats and lessons learned from incidents, the position helps strengthen the university’s overall security posture and operational readiness.
