Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a specialized unit dedicated to Seriously ill patients requiring intermediate level monitoring. This role is based at a healthcare facility that provides comprehensive inpatient services, focusing on patient safety, communication, and clinical excellence to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details:

• Location: The position is located at a healthcare facility in the designated area, with work scheduled for days.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting from 10/19/2026 through 01/18/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, 3 years of nursing experience, and a current nursing license.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip management, insulin and heparin drip experience, and peripheral IV skills. Peritoneal dialysis and stroke/post-cardiac cath care experience are preferred.
• Responsibilities: Performing peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and troubleshooting wound vacs. Maintaining patient communication using AIDET, and participating in hourly or every 2-hour patient rounding.
• Additional Information: The unit emphasizes a team-oriented, self-scheduling environment with a "care like family" culture. The team values outstanding teamwork and utilizes technicians to support patient care. Floating to other PCU units or medical-surgical floors may be required.
