Linux Engineer

Salary: $186,000 - 226,000 per year Requirements:

• 56 years of experience
• Strong Linux administration skills and experience supporting production infrastructure
• Experience administering RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or SUSE
• Knowledge of user, process, and service management; permissions; cron; and systemd
• Experience with LVM, RAID, NFS, filesystems, and disk partitioning
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, SSH, firewalld, and iptables
• Familiarity with Linux troubleshooting tools such as top, vmstat, iostat, sar, ps, free, df, du, dmesg, and journalctl
• Bash scripting skills and basic Python knowledge
• Experience with RPM, YUM, DNF, and APT package management
• Familiarity with Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring tools
• Knowledge of SELinux, access controls, patch management, and SSH security
• Basic knowledge of Ansible and configuration management

• Administer and maintain Linux servers
• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch operating systems across development, testing, and production environments
• Manage user accounts, groups, sudo access, SSH keys, and file permissions
• Troubleshoot server issues involving CPU, memory, disks, networks, and application services
• Manage LVM, partitions, filesystems, swap space, RAID, and filesystem expansion
• Configure and troubleshoot services using systemd and journalctl
• Install and update packages using YUM, DNF, and APT
• Monitor server health, resource usage, system logs, and application availability
• Configure and troubleshoot DNS, NTP, SSH, NFS, FTP/SFTP, and network connectivity
• Manage disk space, inode usage, mount points, and storage connectivity
• Apply OS hardening, remediate vulnerabilities, and deploy security patches
• Develop shell scripts to automate routine system administration tasks
• Support backup and recovery operations and disaster recovery testing
• Resolve boot failures, kernel issues, service outages, and performance bottlenecks
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, operational procedures, and technical knowledge bases
