Business Systems Analyst III

About the Role

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst - Legal & Compliance Technology to serve as a key liaison between Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams. This role focuses on translating complex regulatory and business requirements into scalable technology solutions while driving quality through test automation, process improvement, and business systems analysis.

The ideal candidate will combine strong systems analysis expertise with experience in regulated environments, test automation, stakeholder management, and Agile delivery practices.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Systems Analysis

• Elicit, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements.
• Translate requirements into user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and working sessions to support project delivery.
• Analyze application workflows, integrations, and data flows across Legal and Compliance systems.
• Create and maintain technical, business, and process documentation that meets audit and governance standards.

Quality Assurance & Test Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scenarios for UI, API, and regression testing.
• Build comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation artifacts.
• Ensure traceability between requirements, user stories, and testing outcomes.
• Partner with development teams to integrate test automation early in the software delivery lifecycle.
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate business readiness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks, standards, and automation practices.

Application Support & Delivery

• Provide support for incidents, escalations, and complex business inquiries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Support Agile delivery initiatives through prioritization, dependency management, and iterative value delivery.
• Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve processes and adopt new technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-8 years of experience in Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, or related roles.
• Experience working within financial services or other highly regulated environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Moderate to advanced SQL skills.
• Experience supporting or developing automated testing solutions.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as:
  • Selenium
  • Playwright
• Experience with scripting languages such as:
  • Python
  • PowerShell

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting Legal, Compliance, Risk, or Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) platforms.
• Familiarity with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps workflows.
• Experience modernizing, enhancing, or automating business processes and systems in regulated environments.
• Proven success leading or coordinating small-to-midsize technology initiatives from requirements through delivery.
• Ability to leverage AI-driven approaches to improve efficiency, test coverage, and quality within test automation processes.

Must-Have Skills

• Ability to identify and apply AI-driven approaches to improve efficiency, coverage, and quality within test automation processes.
• Experience modernizing, enhancing, or automating business processes and systems in a regulated environment.
• Proven success leading or coordinating small-to-midsize technology initiatives from requirements through delivery.
