Role Description The Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Paralegal is a full-time, on-site position based in Hialeah or Fort Myers, FL. This role supports attorneys in managing Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases from intake through discharge, including, preparing petitions, schedules, and related filings, and ensuring compliance with court and trustee requirements. Daily tasks include drafting and reviewing legal documents, maintaining case files, managing deadlines, communicating with clients, courts, and trustees, and updating case status in Best Case or similar software. The paralegal will coordinate hearing calendars, assist with plan modifications, and follow up on missing information to keep cases moving efficiently. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple matters, and provide clear, respectful communication to clients and colleagues. Qualifications Strong skills in legal document preparation for bankruptcy matters, including petitions, schedules, and related forms. Knowledge of bankruptcy law with a focus on Chapter 13 Proficiency using Best Case or comparable bankruptcy case management software. Experience interacting with courts, trustees, and other legal offices, including filing and tracking court documents. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish language skills are a plus. Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and staff in an on-site office environment. Prior experience as a bankruptcy or litigation paralegal, or relevant legal support role; paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred. Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PDF tools) and basic data entry.
