Clinical Nurse - Behavioral Assessment Response Team

Additional Information About The Role Location: St. Louis Children’s Hospital, One Children’s Place, St. Louis, MO 63110 Full-time; 36 hours per week (three 12‑hr shifts, 7 am–7:30 pm) Weekend rotation, Holiday rotation Benefits eligible Qualifications At least 2 years of Behavioral Health RN experience Prior experience in pediatrics (preferred) CPI trained (preferred) Registered Nurse (RN) license BJC Nursing Career Ladder The BJC Registered Nurse Career Ladder differentiates BJC as a place for nurses to work in the greater St. Louis area. It promotes professional development and allows nurses to advance to higher ladder levels with corresponding pay increases. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient‑ and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals. Ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Assesses and evaluates physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely (position is safety‑sensitive). Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s – Nursing. Experience: No experience required. Supervisor Experience: No supervisor experience required. Licenses & Certifications: RN. Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing.
