Geologics is seeking an Assistant Program Manager (APM) to be responsible for working with the PM in managing and delivering scope on our Mk41 Vertical Launching system and Mk 45 Naval Gun System programs on time and within cost. This role primarily supervises contracts and new business with existing customers, as well as industrial offset planning and execution. Location/Schedule/Travel: This role is onsite in Chula Vista, CA • The workday will begin around 6:00 AM • The role works 8 hours per day/ 5 days a week schedule • There may be up to 10% travel

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of work experience or equivalent education/experience

Responsibilities

• Managing scope, schedule, and cost for particular tasks or elements of a larger effort
• Identifying and managing risks and opportunities
• Monitoring and controlling activities on current contracts including disciplined, effective change management
• Performing as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
• Tracking and controlling Earned Value Management (EVM)
• Leading matrixed team members based on program direction from a senior program manager
• Proactive planning for activities on current and future contracts
• Continuously improving program performance, including capturing, evaluating, and sharing good practices
• Partners with project controls to develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and manages the project's performance to the IMS
• Develops, creates, and reports on key project metrics, including on-time delivery, material forecasts, hardware production and delivery forecasts, resource allocation, and performance to labor and material budgets
• Identifies and assesses performance gaps to customer expectations or project or business objectives, develops and initiates improvement plans to close the gaps, and utilizes metrics to verify performance to plan
• Proactively follows all export and security policies
• Flexes schedule due to time zone differences when supporting customer meetings
