RN - Labor and Delivery Nurse

Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that upholds professional nursing standards and fosters relationship-based care. This role emphasizes best practices and exceptional customer service within acute care settings including labor and delivery, surgery, emergency, intensive care, pediatric, and other specialized units.

Essential Responsibilities:

Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
Apply clinical expertise and technical knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care and make appropriate patient assignments based on acuity and nurse skill level.
Engage in continuous learning and apply evidence-based practices to enhance workplace performance.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with patients, families, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, privacy standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Participate actively in professional development, leadership opportunities, and collaborative team efforts.

Education and Experience:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience with at least five years of acute care nursing if from a non-accredited program.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.

Licensure and Certifications:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift: Night shift, full-time (36 hours weekly).

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
