Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. This role emphasizes relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements. The position supports acute care departments including Medical, Surgery, Emergency, ICU, Childbirth, Pediatrics, Operating Room, Perianesthesia, Endoscopy/GI, and Cardiac Cath Lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
• Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Demonstrate evidence-based practice to enhance workplace skills and patient outcomes.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
• Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and their programs.
• Prioritize patient and workplace safety by adhering to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
• Engage in professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire; enrollment in an accelerated MSN program is acceptable.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications must be obtained and maintained.

Licensure:

• Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state board.

Work Shift: Night shift, 6:00pm – 6:00am, 36 hours weekly.
