Direct message the job poster from SCN - Search Consulting Network Managing Director - Founder - SCN - Search Consulting Network Modern Search Consulting for B2B Companies The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a manufacturing facility's operations, including production, safety, quality, and staff management, ensuring efficient and cost-effective production while meeting business objectives. Location – North Chicago, IL Company Fourth-generation family-owned and operated business founded in 1936 A family-owned and operated job shop specializing in precision machining of brass, copper, and aluminum alloys. Servicing the Aerospace/Aviation, Appliance, Automotive/Transportation along with many other industries Full Time Direct Hire Background Requirements (If you don’t have all of the requirements, don’t worry! It is not necessary to have every single bullet point in your experience) 5+ years in a Plant / Floor Manager or similar leadership role, preferably in a job shop environment Strong background in screw machining, CNC, or precision manufacturing Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawing Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma. Experience with ERP or MRP systems. Familiarity with ISO standards or other quality certifications. Job Responsibilities Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery timelines Monitor production metrics (cycle time, scrap rates, downtime) and adjust as necessary Oversee the setup and operation of CNC / screw machines and other shop equipment Lead a team of screw machine operators, setup technicians, and maintenance personnel Ensure product meets engineering specifications and quality standards.
