Phone Sales Representative

Mullinax Ford of Central Florida is looking for a motivated, energetic, and dependable Phone Sales Representative to join our team.

This is a sales-focused position for someone who is comfortable spending a large portion of their day communicating with customers over the phone. You will work with customers who have expressed interest in purchasing a vehicle, follow up with prospective buyers, answer questions, build relationships, and schedule appointments for customers to visit the dealership.

We are looking for someone who can have a real conversation with a customer, build trust, create excitement, and turn an initial inquiry into an appointment.

You do not need to be an automotive expert to be successful in this position. We are looking for someone with the right attitude, strong communication skills, consistency, and the willingness to learn.

What You'll Be Doing

Your primary responsibility will be communicating with prospective customers and helping move them from an initial inquiry to an appointment at the dealership.

Daily responsibilities may include:

• Making outbound calls to prospective customers
• Handling incoming sales inquiries
• Following up with customers who have expressed interest in purchasing a vehicle
• Contacting customers through phone, text, and other dealership communication methods
• Scheduling appointments for customers to visit the dealership
• Confirming upcoming appointments
• Following up with customers who have not yet made a purchasing decision
• Reconnecting with previous customers and sales opportunities
• Answering basic questions regarding vehicles and availability
• Building rapport and establishing relationships with customers
• Providing a professional and positive customer experience
• Maintaining accurate notes regarding customer conversations and follow-up
• Working closely with the Internet Sales and dealership sales teams
• Managing multiple customer opportunities at the same time
• Consistently following up with customers
• Working toward individual and department goals
• Participating in training and coaching
• Learning our inventory, dealership processes, and sales approach

Sales Experience

Previous sales experience is a plus, but it is not required.

We are looking for someone who isn't afraid to pick up the phone.

You should be comfortable making outbound calls, talking to customers you have never spoken with before, asking questions, listening to what the customer needs, and providing a reason for them to visit the dealership.

You should also be comfortable following up multiple times when appropriate. Good organization and consistent follow-up are extremely important in this position.

This is not a position for someone who wants to simply wait for customers to call. We are looking for someone who is proactive and willing to create opportunities.

Customer Experience

While this is a sales position, customer experience is extremely important.

Our goal is not simply to make calls. Our goal is to have productive conversations with customers and make purchasing a vehicle as straightforward and comfortable as possible.

We expect our Phone Sales Representatives to treat every customer professionally and respectfully.

Strong candidates will be able to balance sales skills with excellent customer service.

Training

Automotive experience is not required.

We are looking for someone who is coachable and willing to learn.
