Staff Accountant

The Tone: This Staff Accountant position is located at Nidec Minster Corporation in Minster, OH, offering a dynamic and challenging environment for professional growth. You will play a vital role in supporting the accounting and finance department by contributing to critical financial processes, including monthly closes, quarterly financial reporting, tax reporting, and assisting with both internal and external audits. The TL;DR Role: Early Career Location: In-person, Minster, OH Mission: To support critical financial processes and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance for Nidec Minster and its subsidiaries. Tech Stack: Microsoft Office, Excel What You’ll Actually Do Close and Consolidation Management: Actively support the comprehensive close and consolidation processes for Nidec Minster and its US and foreign subsidiaries by preparing necessary journal entries, conducting monthly account reconciliations, and developing all required supporting schedules. Intercompany Activity Reconciliation: Meticulously review intercompany activity across the organization and partner with various locations to reconcile intercompany balances on a monthly basis, resolving any discrepancies. Fixed Asset Record Maintenance: Diligently assist in the ongoing maintenance of fixed asset records, which includes accurately tracking the costs associated with construction projects in progress and regularly performing asset observations. Tax Reporting Data Analysis: Compile and rigorously analyze complex financial data specifically for the preparation of all required federal, state, and local tax reports, ensuring accurate and timely submissions. Audit Documentation Preparation: Prepare thorough and organized documentation essential for both internal reviews and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accessible and transparent for scrutiny. The Must-Haves Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is the foundational educational requirement for this role. Experience: 1-2 years of post-graduate and/or internship experience in a similar accounting position is required, with a preference for candidates who have gained some experience within a manufacturing environment. Skills: Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Candidates must be self-starters with high performance standards, possess exceptional organizational skills, be extremely accurate, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
