Patient Registrar

Job Summary: You will manage pre-registration and full registration for inpatients and outpatients, accurately processing upfront collections, co-pays, and co-insurance. You will also compassionately screen uninsured patients for state assistance programs, guiding them step-by-step through the application process. Key Responsibilities: Conduct rapid, accurate patient registrations (15-20 per shift) across Emergency and Outpatient departments. Interview patients to identify eligibility for financial assistance programs and complete necessary paperwork. Verify insurance coverage, secure upfront payments, and explain payment estimators clearly. Maintain stringent adherence to HIPAA laws, safeguarding protected health information at all times. Deliver exceptional, empathetic customer service to patients, families, and medical staff. Requirements: 1+ year of medical office or high-volume healthcare facility experience. computer skills (Word, Excel) with a typing speed of 45+ WPM. Solid knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and billing. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license for occasional off-site outpatient travel. bilingual in Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin) is strongly preferred.
