SAP Data Architect - SAP BW/HANA, Snowflake & Databricks

Role Description

CTG is seeking to fill a SAP Data Architect – SAP BW/HANA, Snowflake & Databricks position for our client.

• Design and blueprint hybrid data architectures integrating core SAP systems, including SAP BW and SAP HANA, with modern cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake and lakehouse environments such as Databricks.
• Define enterprise data extraction strategies using SAP-GLUE (SNP Glue) to securely and efficiently decouple and replicate complex SAP data structures into cloud storage.
• Establish data governance, security, data quality, and performance optimization standards across SAP and Azure ecosystems.
• Architect and oversee data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to orchestrate data flows between SAP, Databricks, Snowflake, and other cloud data platforms.
• Design and support SAP BW analytical applications leveraging data modeling, data architecture, ETL, reporting, and analytics.
• Leverage advanced SAP ABAP and SAP HANA expertise to design complex extractors, CDS views, AMDPs, calculation views, and custom transformation logic.
• Develop scalable SAP BW/BW/4HANA data models and integration solutions to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Design and implement SAP data replication strategies supporting both bulk and delta data movement to cloud environments.
• Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, SAP, and business teams to translate data requirements into scalable technical architectures.
• Support data integration, transformation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization across hybrid data environments.
• Contribute to enterprise data strategy, architecture standards, technical documentation, and best practices.

Qualifications

• SAP BW, including BW/4HANA and/or BW on HANA.
• SAP HANA data modeling, including Calculation Views and related modeling techniques.
• Advanced SAP ABAP, including Object-Oriented ABAP, enhancements, custom extractors, user exits, and routines.
• SAP-GLUE (SNP Glue) for bulk and delta replication from SAP to cloud targets.
• Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, data sharing, and cloud data warehousing concepts.
• Databricks, including Apache Spark and Delta Lake.
• Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data pipeline development and orchestration.
• SAP CDS Views and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDPs).
• SAP BW ABAP Modeling and/or SAP BW Integrated Planning.
• Data architecture, ETL/ELT, data integration, and data transformation.
• Azure cloud data architecture and hybrid SAP/cloud environments.
• Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
• Microsoft Power Platform for workflow automation and application development.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, scalability, and performance optimization.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise SAP data architectures and analytical solutions.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SAP BW/BW/4HANA and SAP HANA.
• Strong experience developing SAP ABAP-based data extraction and transformation solutions.
• Deep hands-on experience with SAP-GLUE (SNP Glue) for SAP-to-cloud data replication.
• Proven architectural experience with Snowflake and Databricks-based data platforms.
• Extensive experience building and managing Azure Data Factory pipelines.
• Experience integrating SAP data with modern cloud data warehouses and lakehouse environments.
• Experience developing analytical applications using SAP BW, including data modeling, ETL, reporting, and end-user analytics.
• Experience with SAP BW ABAP Modeling, SAP BW Integrated Planning, or related SAP BW development capabilities.
• Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Relevant SAP, cloud, data architecture, or analytics certifications are a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $160,000 to $176,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
