Project Manager - Healthcare

The Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Management Team with the daily management and execution of the construction process. The Project Manager may manage small scale interior projects. This role will assist with safety management, quality, cost management, contracting, scheduling, estimating, bidding, and contract administration functions to ensure successful completion of the project, both timely and within budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Enforce the company Safety program in accordance with company policies and local, state, and federal laws to include all subcontractors. Participate in and report on safety walks. Lead the development of project‑specific safety plan and orientation process. Obtain and maintain current certifications for First Aid, CPR, and OSHA. Technical Knowledge Provide operational support in the project pre‑construction services and bidding process, including preparing cost estimates, generating scopes of work, and preliminary schedules and site logistics. Lead or participate in the development of bidding or GMP packages. Review owner contract terms, develop and execute project buy‑out strategies, and implement the project budget. Negotiate and issue subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and manage subcontract changes. Develop detailed construction schedules and track project status. Maintain contract documents and perform change order management. Lead project meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and stay on schedule. Perform submittal, shop drawing, and RFI reviews. Track sustainability or LEED status. Prepare Project Status Reports and invoice owners. Manage project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation. Quality of Work Implement quality management systems, maintain approval logs, and oversee bid reviews on a consistent basis. Ensure adherence to best practices and educate team members. Cooperativeness + Teamwork Team with project leaders to assist and/or lead construction processes. Promote collaboration with owners, property managers, designers, vendors, and contractors. Communication Effectively communicate with team, owners, architects, and subcontractors throughout the project. Maintain strong relationships and evaluate subcontractor performance. Participate in marketing presentations for potential projects. Problem Solving Execute proactive solutions, coordinate research, and manage RFI responses. Planning + Organization Prioritize tasks, organize workflow and resources. Maintain project details while providing a big‑picture view. Plan for upcoming tasks and projects. Timeliness Show a sense of urgency for billing and change orders. Execute timely start‑up and closeout processes. Management + Leadership Supervise and mentor junior staff and conduct performance appraisals.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE + SPECIAL SKILLS

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field. Experience in commercial building construction. Knowledge of engineering and construction project management principles. Experience with sustainable building (e.g., LEED). Technical systems and process literacy. Strong initiative, decision‑making, and commitment. Mentoring and team management skills. Subcontract negotiation skills. Analytical problem‑solving and research skills. Time‑management and organizational abilities. Strong verbal and written communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project scheduling software. Certifications for First Aid, CPR, OSHA 30‑hour. Minimum four years of construction experience, including general contracting. Desired LEED certification.

PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS

Requires reaching above and below, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying up to 50 pounds, and using office equipment safely.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The role may require travel to conferences and company events. Work may involve moderate noise levels and hazardous conditions on job sites; safety precautions will be provided.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary $105,000.00 – $140,000.00 with a total compensation package that includes health insurance, life insurance, disability benefits, 401(k) and more.
