Event Manager - College of Law

Responsibilities This position serves as the College of Law Event Manager, assisting with all aspects of non‑alumni event planning and room scheduling at the College. Responsibilities include: Overseeing receptions, seminars, meetings, conferences, lectures, symposia, onsite competitions, and outreach programs. Managing comprehensive event planning: venue reservations, catering, photographer bookings, parking and transportation logistics, permit acquisition, equipment and entertainment organization, signage and promotional material preparation, seating layout and name‑tag production. Coordinating with various college departments—Facilities, IT, Dean’s Staff, Communications—to ensure all logistical needs (IT, staffing, parking, delivery, removal of furniture) are addressed. Maintaining updated policies and procedures in SharePoint and providing guidance on space use, security, and other university event policies. Managing budgets, marketing, travel, guest lists, invitations, and staffing for events; coordinating post‑event activities such as gathering feedback, vendor appreciation, invoice processing, expense monitoring, and donor acknowledgment. Serving as event manager for all College of Law events, including Dean receptions, retirement celebrations, visits from external groups, and college‑wide programs such as Summer for Undergraduates, commencement, New Student Orientation, and the D'Alemberte & Palmer Lecture in International Human Rights. Ensuring smooth reservation and use of College of Law space for students, faculty, and staff, including maintenance and repair coordination. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of relevant experience.
