Summer Food Explorer Specialist Brooklyn

New York Edge is seeking passionate and enthusiastic Summer Camp Food Explorer Specialists across 5 Boroughs. Position Overview In this seasonal role, you will be critical to the successful operation of the Summer Day Camp program. Specialists lead activities for children and teens at New York Edge program sites. Responsibilities Build strong relationships with and among students. Teach or co‑lead daily activities. Establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects and communicate them to students. Instruct participants on activity principles, techniques, and safety procedures, and demonstrate proper use of materials and equipment. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be 18 years old. Preferred degree or current study in Nutrition, Public Health, or related subject. At the time of offer and acceptance, safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health are required. Must complete a mandatory 3‑hour curriculum and instruction training before the start of summer camp. Schedule Part‑time seasonal (July 1 – August 14). Weekly scheduled hours 15-29 per week. No Summer Camp on July 3. Elementary school: Monday‑Friday 12 pm‑6 pm. Middle school: Monday‑Thursday 12 pm‑6 pm; Friday 8 am‑6 pm (until August 7).
