A direct hire position is available for a Staff Pharmacist in Boise, ID, offering a dynamic role within a high-volume pharmacy environment. This opportunity involves rotating shifts Monday through Friday, between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm, with specific scheduling details discussed during the phone interview. Candidates must be comfortable with this flexible schedule arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide proactive patient counseling and medication education via phone, addressing inquiries about new prescriptions, refills, side effects, medication adherence, and proper usage.
• Collaborate closely with prescribers and their offices to clarify prescriptions and resolve clinical issues that could delay dispensing.
• Review and clinically verify new and refill prescriptions to ensure therapeutic appropriateness, checking for drug interactions, contraindications, and correct dosing.
• Perform pharmacist verification of filled prescriptions in a high-volume closed-door fulfillment setting, ensuring accuracy in drug selection, dosing, quantity, and labeling prior to dispensing.
• Support pharmacy management in receiving, processing, and transferring prescriptions, taking ownership of the transfer process from start to finish.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of Idaho.
• 0 to 6 years of pharmacist experience preferred, with background in retail, mail order, or specialty pharmacy settings. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
