Job Description

General Ledger (GL) Accountant provides the Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller with assistance on all financial-related tasks.

• Prepare and review financial statements for each of our properties and assist/prepare in the monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Coordinate financial and gaming audits with the Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller.
• Reconcile accounts monthly between the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and related gaming, hotel, and F&B systems, ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled and documented monthly.
• Ensure bank accounts are reconciled and various revenue audits completed daily.
• Review financial data on a weekly basis and consult with the Controller and the Assistant Controller about discrepancies.
• Knowledge of gaming, state, local, and county taxes.

Protects company assets. Effectively controls the proper release of propriety information. Excels in ensuring that team members recognize the critical importance of protecting ingredients, processes, and trade secrets. Ensures that Key Control procedures are always adhered to. Must be able to stay informed of current policies and procedures and act in accordance with the established guidelines. Seeks approval before releasing questionable information. Respects the need to discuss confidential records in private areas. Excels in maintaining an effective record retention program, giving proper attention to legal, tax, and operating concerns. Ensures that electronic records are properly secured, and back-up protected. Maintains vital records. Ensures that vital company records are kept in a safe and secure location. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Registration.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or necessary.

Skills / Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred. 3+ years' experience working as a general ledger accountant in an environment that involves multiple company entities. Excellent 10-key speed accuracy and math skills. Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal correspondence. Commitment to detailed financial accounting and reporting. Must be able to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and overtime as needed. Must be detail-oriented, hands-on, able to multi-task, and remain open-minded to changes and new information daily. EI/VP Core Values. Accounting (Technical) Knowledge. Bonus Skills / Experience

Gaming industry experience preferred. Food & Beverage and hotel industry experience preferred. Sage Intacct experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to sit for long periods of time, use hands to handle objects and tools, operate a computer, and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
