Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics
The Department of Economics at Morehouse College invites applications for a visiting position in economics beginning in the Fall semester of 2026. Applications are open to candidates who have a M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Economics and have a strong interest in statistics and quantitative analysis. The role requires strong analytical capability, effective communication, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
A research-based M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Economics from a full-time, accredited institution is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Instruction: Teach undergraduate courses in Economics (e.g. Statistics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics). Demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching and student learning outcomes. Develop course materials and integrate technology into instruction. Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Service and Institutional Contributions: Provide service to the department, institution, and profession. Participate in committees, curriculum development, and program assessment activities. Support student development initiatives and departmental programs.
- Innovation and Creative Production Activities: Conduct independent and collaborative research in Economics. Present research findings at conferences and professional meetings.
