CHIEF Financial Officer

Zanda is an executive search partner working exclusively with high-growth startups as they scale their leadership teams. We partner closely with VCs, Founders, CEOs, and CFOs to successfully deliver critical senior appointments during key growth moments. Who’s the business Zanda is partnering with a high-growth, international CleanTech firm based in North America , currently on a strong growth trajectory. The business is looking to hire a CFO to help move the company toward investor-grade financial operations as it continues to scale. This role will be critical in building robust, scalable accounting infrastructure while partnering closely with the board. What you’ll be responsible for Serve as a key member of the executive team, contributing to overall company strategy and direction Partner with the CEO and C-Suite on future financing, including equity, debt, and hybrid instruments, optimising capital structure for growth, liquidity, and stability. Apart from partnering cross-functionally with Operations, People & Culture, Sales, and Product to align financial strategy with business objectives Lead the company’s journey toward an IPO or SPAC, including readiness, governance, and external engagement Develop and execute the financial strategy to support corporate growth, market expansion, and long-term value creation Build and maintain strong relationships with capital markets, institutional investors, lenders, auditors, and advisors Advise the CEO and Board on financial performance, risk, and strategic opportunities Lead significant corporate events including capital raises, M&A, and due diligence processes Identify and mitigate financial risks while optimising runway, working capital, and burn Represent the company externally with investors, regulators, and financial stakeholders What we’re looking for 20+ years of experience in finance leadership roles, with at least 5 years in cleantech, energy, industrials, or another capital-intensive sector Experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a public or large private company, or as a senior investment banker with deep capital markets exposure Proven track record of scaling businesses, raising significant capital (venture, institutional, debt, and/or strategic), and leading public-market transactions (IPO, RTO, or SPAC) Deep understanding of financial markets, accounting principles, and regulatory frameworks (IFRS and US GAAP) Strong investor relations experience with the ability to clearly articulate and market the company’s story to institutional investors Strategic, analytical, and commercially minded, with the ability to influence at Board and C-suite level Purpose-driven leader with high integrity, strong communication skills, and a coaching mindset Nice to have Background in project or structured finance within energy or industrial sectors Experience with multi-entity, international businesses #J-18808-Ljbffr
