We are seeking a detail-oriented Benefits Specialist for a contract opportunity to provide administrative support to the Benefits/HR team. This position will assist with day-to-day benefits administration, employee inquiries, reporting, audits, and general departmental support. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with confidential employee information, and has strong Excel and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative support for the Benefits/HR department
• Open, sort, review, and distribute incoming mail and benefit-related correspondence
• Complete and respond to employment verification requests
• Process and assist with unemployment claims and related documentation
• Prepare bi-weekly and monthly Excel reports, ensuring data is accurate and complete
• Assist with open enrollment, including answering employee questions regarding enrollment, deadlines, and general benefit inquiries
• Respond to employee phone calls and emails and route more complex benefit questions as needed
• Audit employee bonus information and bonus payouts for accuracy
• Perform benefit billing audits, identifying discrepancies and assisting with corrections
• Review employee and benefits data to ensure information is accurate across systems and reports
• Maintain organized electronic and paper records while handling confidential information appropriately
• Assist the Benefits team with additional administrative projects as needed

• Previous HR, benefits, payroll, or administrative experience preferred
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with reports and large amounts of employee data
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies
• Comfortable handling employee inquiries by phone and email
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring reporting deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive employee information
• Experience with unemployment claims, benefits administration, billing audits, or open enrollment is a plus
