Become a part of our team at the Department of Veterans VA Medical Center in San Francisco, CA, as a Part-Time Physician - Psychiatrist!

The Medical Director of the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Clinic (DAT) oversees psychopharmacological services for patients within the DAT Clinic. This program focuses on group-based treatment while also offering care coordination and pharmacotherapy for substance use disorders, whether or not accompanied by mental health issues. Additionally, support for the Veterans Justice Outreach program is included.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in a clinical program that prioritizes patient outcome metrics.
• Operate within the limits of assigned privileges.
• Adhere to the bylaws, rules, and regulations of the facility and agency.
• Fulfill medical staff criteria for initial and ongoing appointments, including continuing medical education (CME).
• Follow established record-keeping practices in line with regulations and bylaws.
• Abide by information security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, staff, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in educational activities and scheduled meetings within the Medical Service.
• Complete assigned peer reviews and maintain quality assurance standards.
• Finish all health record reviews and peer evaluations within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship is mandatory.
• A Forensic Fellowship is also required.
• Board Certification is essential due to the teaching affiliation with the University of California, San Francisco.

• Salary Range: Expected between $300K - $315K (negotiable based on qualifications and experience).

• Licensure: Must hold one full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.
• CME: Possible reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time with board certification).
• Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection with tail coverage provided at no cost.
• Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and minimal restrictions on moonlighting.
