Become a part of our team at the Department of Veterans VA Medical Center in San Francisco, CA, as a Physician - Psychiatrist (Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program)!

The staff psychiatrist will be affiliated with the VA San Francisco Health Care System (VASFHCS), specifically within the Mental Health Service. This role involves delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and high-quality healthcare to all patients while collaborating as a member of an interdisciplinary team. As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will act as an attending psychiatrist for the SFVA Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP), providing thorough outpatient care in the clinic, mentoring UCSF trainees, and serving as backup faculty for on-call residents at the SFVA. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team addressing general mental health needs for Veterans, managing a variety of psychiatric conditions such as Major Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders, Schizophrenia, and Substance Use Disorders. Responsibilities include adhering to VA directives, supervising and mentoring UCSF trainees, and providing oversight for on-call UCSF residents at the SFVA.

• Expected Salary Range: $300K - $315K (negotiable based on qualifications, credentials, and experience)

• Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

• Work Schedule: Full-time, with hours determined by supervisor

• Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increases

• Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for CME)

• Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% contributions from the VA

• Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)

• Licensure: One full and unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory

• CME: Possible reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time with board certification)

• Malpractice Coverage: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided

• Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
