It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.**Description of Work**DSDHH is hiring! We are seeking a leader in the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind community with a proven track record of eliminating communication barriers for individuals as our next Communication Access Manager! In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of services, resources and policies related to effective provision of communication access services for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind individuals. You will be a member of DSDHH’s Executive Management Team. In addition to the Communication Access Program, you will also oversee the Medicaid Communication Access team. You will evaluate in-house and out-of-house sign language interpreters. Sign language interpreters will look to you for skill development training opportunities. You will also be responsible for public outreach, education, resource development and service coordination related to the provision of sign language interpreting services and the provision of additional communication access services.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences**## **Salary Range: $70,478 -$123,336**## **Recruitment Range: $70,478 -$82,000***Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.**The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred.** Demonstrated skills in leadership, management and supervision, including supervision of supervisors.* Advanced ASL proficiency required**Physical Requirements:**Ability to travel Ability to work after hours and on weekends as needed.\*Position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours\*Posting closes at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end date**About the NC Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH):** The Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing works to ensure that all Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Deaf-Blind North Carolinians have the ability to communicate their needs and to receive information easily and effectively in all aspects of their lives, especially their health and well-being.**Compensation and Benefits:**The State of North Carolina offers excellent comprehensive benefits.
