Direct Support Professional Entry (DSPE)

The Arc Montgomery County's Inclusive Living Services—Personal Supports is hiring a Part‑Time Direct Support Professional (Entry Level) to provide supportive services to individuals living independently. Responsibilities Provide support, guidance and supervision to clients in their homes, as defined by their funding and individualized plans. Assist with activities of daily living, promote life skills, facilitate community inclusion and ensure compliance with service plans. Perform drop‑in support or longer supervised sessions as needed, from a few hours to several hours per week. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (or equivalent), age 18 or older and at least one year of relevant experience. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken English and interact with clients, coworkers and stakeholders. Ability to assist with personal care and activities of daily living. Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with assistance. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and perform repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, pulling and pushing.
