Requirements

Duties:

• Floating between departments and or local locations within 20 miles is required.
• Selected candidates MUST SUCCESSFULLY PASS a BCA (Basic Cardiac Arrythmia) test.
• Candidates will not be able to start an assignment until they have passed this onsite administered test. Should they fail, candidates will have one opportunity to re-test, a second failure will result in contract cancellation and all applicable fees will be enforced.

Job Summary:

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
• Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
• Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
• Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team.
• Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
• Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
• Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Two (2) years current experience required in an 18-plus bed telemetry/progressive care unit.
• Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast paced environment.
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Preferred Skills & Experience:
• Epic EMR experience.

Required Education:

• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) OR,
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• BLS, ACLS certifications.
