Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to join our team within a Progressive Care Unit located in Hawaii. This role involves working in a 15-bed unit that provides step-down care from the ICU as well as telemetry monitoring services.

Schedule

The candidate will be scheduled for 36 hours per week following a one-week orientation. Please note that there is no guarantee of hours, and no call is required for this position.

General Job Duties

• Providing primary nursing care to patients
• Monitoring telemetry and interpreting telemetry strips
• Performing fingerstick blood sugar tests

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis for medication management
• BIPAP for respiratory support
• Continuous cardiac monitoring equipment

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 1 year of acute care hospital experience within the last year
• Preferred experience in Progressive Care and telemetry

Licensure and Certifications

• Current Hawaii nursing license (required before the start of assignment)
• ACLS certification preferred
• PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred

Additional Duties

The candidate should be prepared to float to other acute care units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and ER departments.

Dress Code

Scrubs are the required attire for this position.

Additional Information

All candidates must arrive the Thursday before their start date to attend a required employee health appointment on Friday. Please ensure that you can meet this timeline before accepting the offered start date.
