As a member of our Door Staff team, you are the first line of hospitality. This role is about more than checking IDs. It is an opportunity to provide a warm, professional welcome while helping maintain a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, approachable, confident, and composed under pressure.
*Candidate does not necessarily need to identify as a "man." "Doorman" is the job category used by Culinary Agents.
Duties:
- Welcome every guest with warmth and professionalism
- Check IDs for age and expiration
- Engage guest in order to assess level of intoxication
- Refuse entry if intoxicated
- Answer guest questions and provide directions or information
- Help manage guest flow during busy periods
- Help clear all non-bartop areas of dirty glassware, dishes, and other mess
- Straighten stools as needed
- Keep countertops clean
- Monitor occupancy levels and assist in controlling capacity as needed
- De-escalate rare conflicts with calmness, professionalism, and respect
- Work with entire team to help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for guests and staff
- Keep the entrance, sidewalk, and surrounding exterior areas clean, organized, and inviting
- Ensure that no guest enters or exits with an open container
- Monitor smoking and outdoor guest areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and respectful guest behavior, inluding noise level for neighborhood
- Provide support to bartenders, servers, barbacks, and management as needed
- At end of night, make sure guests leave safely and quietly
- Help take garbage out at end of night
- Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6pm until 2:30 am
