Nurse Consultant II

Responsibilities Plan, develop, facilitate, and evaluate the work of Nurse Consultant I team members. Ensure staff maximize effort and operate at peak efficiency to conduct Licensure and/or Medicare/Medicaid certification surveys. Ensure staff follow federal, state, and section guidelines, processes, and procedures. Assist with planning and developing strategic plans and goals, ensuring departmental activities and guidelines adhere to regulatory requirements. Conduct Licensure and/or Medicare certification of Home Care, Home Health, and Hospice agencies and review documentation to ascertain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. Provide technical assistance and interpret regulations to staff on surveys. Analyze survey findings and determine compliance with applicable rules and statutes. Prepare deficiency reports documenting findings of non‑compliance in a legally defensible manner, and review staff reports. Review plans of correction submitted by providers to ensure they meet established criteria. Provide technical assistance and information to facilities, potential providers, and the public on the licensure and certification process, requirements, and interpretations. Qualifications & Experience Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina. Two years of clinical experience in the area of specialization. Preferred Qualifications Strong clinical background, including assessment, care planning, and delivery of care. Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing healthcare. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to compose clear technical reports using good grammar. Ability to gather and analyze data for decision‑making.
