Assistant Collateral Specialist

Position Overview


Responsible for assisting the Collateral Manager and Collateral Specialists with research, clerical duties, appraisal/valuation product ordering, condo project investigations and vendor management. As needed, will also assist in determining acceptability of collateral, compliance to seller's guides and to determine if appraisal and collateral are acceptable under supervision of more senior Collateral Department staff.

Essential Job Functions

Work with appraisal management vendors. Order and follow-up on appraisal and other valuation products. Assist Collateral Manager in various Clerical duties. Conduct research including calling assessors and other municipal agencies for details on collateral properties. Research agency and HUD guidelines. Collateral review work as directed by Collateral Manager and supervised by more senior Collateral Department staff in order to assist in collateral aspect of underwriting loans.


Requirements

Minimum 2 years real estate and/or appraisal experience, appraisal review experience preferred. Minimum high school diploma, college or related real estate continuing education preferred. Assistant Real Estate Appraiser or Real Estate Agent license preferred.


Other Skills/Abilities

Working knowledge of real estate, appraisal industry and/or residential mortgage lending. Competent PC and Microsoft Office skills. Proficient reading and writing aptitude. Ability to work independently with basic instruction. Ability to compose themselves in a professional manner departmentally, interdepartmentally and with outside vendors and agencies. Good phone and communication skills. Capable research abilities. Ability to navigate the internet.
