Technology Intern - Fall 2026

Role Summary Synchrony is looking for Technology interns who will focus on advancing our internal capabilities in artificial intelligence, data science, and other emerging technology domains to create long-term value for our customers. Interns will work closely with our Innovation Station and SMEs to deliver projects for our business stakeholders. Projects can range across multiple disciplines such as basic market and technology research, big data analytics, proof‑of‑concept creation, data visualization, and software development. Responsibilities Advance internal capabilities in AI, data science, and emerging technology domains. Work closely with Innovation Station and SMEs to deliver projects for business stakeholders. Conduct research in market and technology areas, big data analytics, proof‑of‑concept creation, data visualization, and software development. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills. Critical thinking with excellent judgment and initiative. Self‑motivation with keen attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Proven analytical skills. Natural curiosity and ability to learn quickly. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Engaging personality; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with Agile project‑management methods and practices. Eligibility Requirements Must be registered as a full‑time student at Syracuse University. Must have a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0. Must be willing to commit 10–20 hours per week during the academic semester and/or 40 hours per week during summer break. Must be 18 years or older. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation, and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process. Must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. No visa sponsorship. Compensation Hourly rate: $24.00–$33.50 per hour USD, with eligibility for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience or skill level. Work Arrangement Synchrony offers flexible working arrangements. Interns may work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices.
