About the job Packaging Engineering Manager Position Summary: This role leads the packaging engineering team, overseeing packaging design, development, and optimization. The position ensures compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety standards while driving innovation and cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: Lead the packaging engineering team and manage packaging development projects. Collaborate with HQ and suppliers to ensure seamless execution of packaging strategies. Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and vendors to align packaging with brand and product goals. Oversee new product development and commercialization processes for packaging. Design sustainable packaging solutions that align with cost-effectiveness and environmental impact goals. Maintain awareness of industry trends, best practices, and competitor packaging strategies. Conduct R&D scale-up testing and ensure packaging integrity in production. Report project progress using MS Project software. Apply knowledge of food microbiology and chemistry to identify and resolve product defects. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in packaging development within the food manufacturing industry. Hands-on experience in packaging design and development from concept to production. Strong understanding of packaging qualification standards, supply chain logistics, and regulatory compliance. Experience collaborating with packaging suppliers. Leadership experience in managing teams and projects. Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
