Senior Payroll Specialist

Under general supervision of the Manager, Payroll, compiles payroll data to maintain payroll records, process payroll and compile reports by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Compiles payroll data for weekly (union) and bi-weekly (non-union) payrolls, including but not limited to timecard review, commissions, bonuses, wage garnishments, disability payments, taxable fringe benefits, statutory taxes and withholdings, direct deposit(s) and union obligations. Ensures data integrity between HRIS, time keeping and payroll systems and assists with integrations that support data transfer between those systems. Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting to include union, 401k, FSA, HSA, etc. Responds to outside agencies and vendor data inquiries. Assist with ensuring continuing compliance with all statutory and regulatory Payroll requirements. Work with payroll vendor to investigate and resolve discrepancies related to payroll taxes. Identifies, recommends and implements continuous improvement initiatives. Act as primary back-up to the Payroll Manager for all payroll processes. Considerable knowledge of HRIS and payroll systems, payroll administration, including federal and state regulations is mandatory. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None PREFERRED / REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum High School Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience and/or training. Technical aptitude for the following software systems: ADP Workforce Now, Dimensions Timekeeping and/or Workday. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Excel.
