Software Engineer - Finance & Tax Tech

Salary: $250,000 - 413,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with strong object-oriented programming skills and a focus on writing efficient, maintainable, and testable code.
• We expect a solid grounding in computer science and software development fundamentals.
• We need proficiency in gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful API design and implementation.
• We require strong expertise in Java and Python, or another object-oriented language, along with a deep understanding of OO design principles, concurrency, multithreading, performance optimization, and observability.
• We value experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• We look for hands-on experience using GenAI and AI-assisted engineering tools, with sound judgment for validating AI-generated output.
• We expect familiarity with testing frameworks and a track record of delivering high-quality, well-tested code.
• We value front-end exposure for building internal and external portals with JavaScript or TypeScript using React or a similar framework.
• We need a strong understanding of the software development life cycle and QA practices.
• We prefer candidates with knowledge of the finance domain, including revenue, payments, and tax.
• We look for strong collaboration skills with business partners, solution architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• We expect clear, concise written and verbal communication.
• We value demonstrated drive, strong execution, and the ability to exceed expectations while supporting multiple partners.

• We design, develop, and deliver scalable solutions, including post-launch support, for our Finance and Tax teams worldwide.
• We work closely with internal Finance and Tax stakeholders to understand use cases and build end-to-end solutions.
• We build strong cross-functional partnerships across finance and engineering teams to identify needs and solve problems effectively.
• We independently own features or components through the full development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through production launch.
• We contribute to the development, debugging, testing, and operation of APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-based services.

We offer a competitive compensation package with a salary range of $250,000 to $413,000 depending on location, background, skills, and experience, plus a choice between salary and stock options.
