About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Institutional Research to provide strategic leadership and ensure the availability of accurate, timely, and well-interpreted data for decision-making at all levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation of data initiatives that align with the company's strategic plan, particularly those related to equity, access, completion, and workforce goals. This role involves direct engagement with the company's leadership, Board of Regents, and state legislators to support data-informed policy and decision-making. The Executive Director will also be tasked with supervising departmental staff, managing budgets for data projects, and representing the company in regional and national data networks. Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years' experience in institutional research, data analytics, or a related area, with a strong preference for those with a background in a higher education system office. The role requires hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases, as well as a deep understanding of data associated with secondary education. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in data governance, research methodology, and statistical techniques, and have the ability to translate complex technical analyses into clear insights for non-technical decision-makers. Advanced skills in data management tools and programming languages, as well as experience with data security practices and student data privacy regulations, are essential. The Executive Director will also be expected to have a proven track record in strategic planning, consensus building, and staff development.
